Well-Prepared for School Entry
The Frieda and Strese groups each have their own dedicated learning workshop. Children in their final year of preschool work there in the morning, preparing for their transition to school. The day begins with a special morning circle, where a children’s book is read aloud, setting the framework for activities in the learning workshop.
Our learning workshop is divided into four functional areas: language, mathematics and science, creativity, and deconstruction. The materials are primarily from Montessori and Nikitin approaches. Children start with a few carefully selected, self-explanatory learning boxes and, according to their own learning progress, gain access to increasingly advanced materials throughout the year.
In the learning workshop, our professionals deliberately step further into the background. Our goal is not to preempt academic content but to stimulate children’s self-directed learning based on their developmental stage. Children also learn essential skills in organization and self-management, which form the foundation for a successful school experience.
